Over the past many years Integra Systems, Inc. has worked with many medical device companies with the overall goal of enabling "wireless and wired" connectivity for these companies to build new innovative business models. These solutions have spanned from the in-hospital side to outside the four walls of the facility; to home and mobile use. What is interesting is now for the first time the amount of information that can be gathered pre-hospital use; during an encounter (in the hospital) and post discharge. Ultimately folks see value to input this collective information into the Electronic Medical Record. The challenge is it seems is the amount of information gathered is somewhat huge..being now it could be real time or near real time, and not just within setting of a patient care visit. There are now incentives when the patient is discharged to keep that patient perhaps compliant and/or well. Makes perfect sense. So the question comes up...how do we sift through the data and make good business intelligence decisions?
It is our opinion that the next wave of innovation will come as a result of using predictive analytics. Integra Systems, Inc. is in the midst of developing unique requirements and solution sets that can directly address the needs of the "connected medical device" with point of care analytics as well as business intelligence from a macro level.
See attached some very good reports..one from Gartner that sheds light on the "predictive analytics" industry and "what is possible"!
